Samuhik Utthan Sewa Samiti through its project SABALA
Aims to facilitate the critical concern of livelihood among the deprived women population in the country.
The objective of this project is to empower the women population especially from the deprived backgrounds with effective professional skills leading to appropriate livelihood opportunities.
We provide appropriate skill development training programmes in the high demand services such as Tailoring and Beautician. Both the services are not only high in demand but also offer time flexibility on one hand and the option to operate out of home on the other , most suitable for the support seeking women population.
The courses offered in Tailoring & Beautician, typically range anywhere between 3 – 6 months, providing the students adequate knowledge to facilitate livelihood opportunities at the end of the training programme.
Technically sound trainers help and motivate the students to understand the smallest but critical technical know how of the desired skill development programme. The students are also provided tips on kick starting their livelihood through self employment opportunities.
Going forward, Samuhik Utthan Sewa Samiti shall further strengthen its support to the women population for appropriate livelihood by maximizing its reach across the country as well as enhance the professional knowledge among the skilled livelihood seeking students.
A lot has been done for women empowerment in India since we achieved independence, but Indian women still have a long way to go if we want to call ourselves empowered.
India has seen a powerful woman prime minister and women chief ministers of the states. But the truth is that women are still helpless in Indian society. Many women are still living below the poverty line, have no access to education facilities, have minimum lifestyle and have zero financial independence.
The reasons for zero financial independence are many but the most important being the lack of skills and time constraints due to the traditional responsibility of household chores (e.g., cooking, fetching water, and looking after children) entrusted on the Indian women.
SABALA is a reflection of the company’s deep rooted belief in “equal partnership” among men & women in all aspects. Initiated in the year 2011, the project provides a platform for creating sustainable livelihood for the women population through appropriate livelihood skills training. The project is designed especially for those women who are compelled to live below poverty line due to tough circumstances of life.
Samuhik Utthan Sewa Samiti aims to support the cause of livelihood among the needy women population of the country by empowering them with skills offering livelihood opportunities.
The Samiti has aptly setup SABALA Help Centers (SHC) across the district and state to reach out to the needy women seeking a platform for developing skills offering them to livelihood opportunities.SHC offers training in skills such as Tailoring, & Beautician keeping in mind the weak education background of the targeted women. SHC are professionally run in terms of its operations and the course delivery. The students of the SHC undergo a rigorous skill training on the above mentioned skills for a period of anywhere between 3 months to 1 year based on the level of skill course/program enrolled for. The students undergo an examination at the end of the scheduled training and are awarded a Certificate based on the evaluation on successful completion of the training.
The SHC students are provided the know how of the various livelihood opportunities (employment / self employment) including tips for becoming a successful entrepreneur, post their certification.
The Samiti boasts of empowering and providing livelihood opportunities to more than 50 women across the since the project inception.
